~ LandShark & El Diablo (the most interesting Wiener in the world)
This past Saturday, October 19th, LandShark and Murphy took 1st place in the Wiener Dog Costume for their convincing portrayal of Good Dog, Bad Dog…. The boys were also photographed and appeared in the media coverage by the OC Register http://shar.es/ENHdt
LandShark’s been training hard in the off season and below are his tips for winning at the Wiener Nationals in Los Alamitos. Keep your fingers crossed that he can pull out a win this year!!!

Summer, 2012 – When cousin came to town
Like all gangsta dogs nothin’ makes El Diablo happier than when family comes to town. This past summer LandShark and mines cousin Ryan came to visit us all the way from Annapolis, Maryland. Yes, I realize as I write this in January 2013, that my story is about 6 months overdue, however that is how long it has taken LandShark and I to recover from our visit from the 30”, 25lb. tower of terror. Our sweet angel faced cousin had a LOT of energy, like endless amounts of self-sustaining energy, which is great if you’re an 80lb Labrador who wants to run and play fetch all day. Not so great if you’re a 10lb Wiener who spends 85% of his day sun-bathing and napping. I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the most exhausted that my bro LandShark and I have ever been. Even though our Herculean cousin caused us to sleep for two weeks uninterrupted after he left we loved having him to play with and made him the first official member of our Wientourage.

LandShark’s expectations were high at this year’s Wiener Nationals in Los Alamitos. He had spent the off season training rigorously in the sand and relentlessly chasing brother Murphy for hours on end. He landed a favorable spot in lane #2 with an even more favorable color (white – because it is hella hot in July). Sadly, all this training and good luck could not help him because his coaching staff was too busy chugging beers to remember to fix his running outfit…preventing the LandShark from being able to take a full stride and condemning him to third…or maybe it was fourth…place. So with his head bowed in disgust LandShark swore to the almighty Wiener that he would never again be foiled by a boozing coaching staff and an unhemmed racing jersey.

June 3, 2012 –Huntington Beach Dog Beach
As promised, below are some of the photos momma took of us at the Huntington Beach Dog Beach last Sunday. I know that I’m breathtakingly handsome but I can’t help it, please try to enjoy ALL the photos and not just the ones of me looking dashing. For the full gallery click on our “Dog Beach Photos” page.
June 3, 2012 – Balboa Island Parade & Huntington Beach Dog Beach
Today LandShark and I were invited to walk in the Balboa Island Parade with the OC Doxie Meet Up group under the name “The Real Wieners of Orange County”.
It was a great day to be a wiener! There were lots of people at the parade that were really nice to my brother and me. We got lots of head pets and compliments on our costumes (thanks grandma). LandShark dressed up as a Shark (obvious choice) and I got to strut my stuff in a hula boy outfit (even if I did get called a girl all day). Of note, I am pretty sure that putting me in a grass skirt was Momma’s way of trying to ruin my street cred as top gangsta in our Yorba Linda hood, but what she didn’t plan on was that El Diablo makes everything look good…even a skirt. It takes a true gangsta to rock a grass skirt and a pink Hawaiian shirt!
After the parade Momma took us to the Huntington Beach Dog Beach as a reward for being good wieners at the parade. LandShark and I love the doggy beach, it’s a nice long stretch of beach where we can run off leash and chase each other and other doggies until our little legs won’t run anymore. And since we were so good at the parade and didn’t bark once we decided to use all our pent up energy and bark at EVERYBODY at the dog beach hound or human. Momma wasn’t real happy about what she referred to as a bunch of unnecessary regulatin’ by me and my brother. Oh well, at least we went 1 for 2 on the behaving scale instead of 0 for 2.
