May 12, 2012 – Wild Wiener Round Up
This past Saturday LandShark and I spent the day at the Wild Wiener Round Up at Indian Village Park in Westminster, CA. Mommy told us that she was taking us to a place where bad Dachshunds are all placed in a pen and then small children chase them with lassos and the first doxie caught is placed on a spit and grilled in sacrifice to the Wiener dog gods. Mommy is evil isn’t she? Needless to say when we got there it was a charity fundraiser for the So Cal Dachshund Rescue, and no children with lassos and no spit for grilling Dachshunds.
We did some more wiener racing and I, El Diablo won a VERY FANCY squeaker ball for winning my first race. I, however, lost focus by round two due to the many hot wiener fashionistas that were strutting around in their best outfits…and was promptly eliminated.
The nice people at So Cal Dachshund Rescue did let us practice race with our friend Max who is part wiener and we were able to get some cool pix running against him. We also learned that running against another dog with legs 3 times longer than yours is a recipe for getting your butt kicked…repeatedly.
Mommy entered us in the bobbing for wieners contest but didn’t tell us that we were expected to put our faces in the water, uh no thank you! We also had our favorite two blond groupies with us, Madison and Abbie, they always give us tons of hugs and kisses even when we’re being bad.
~El Diablo, the most interesting wiener in the world.
